Graduate Development Program 

Hydro Tasmania Consulting's 3-year Graduate Development Program provides support for our graduates to obtain the skills and experience necessary to achieve full professional recognition in their respective field.

Our Graduate Development Program includes:

• support for the attainment of professional qualifications
• professional body membership
• generic business skills training, which focuses on developing the necessary interpersonal, business management and leadership skills required in a team environment
• mentoring
• developmental rotations, allowing opportunities for broad tech skill development
• regular events, such as forums, guest speakers and social networking functions.

The 2009 Hydro Tasmania Graduate intake has opportunities in:

• Engineering - civil, electrical, mechanical, power and structural
• Survey/GIS
• Town planner
• Aquatic scientist/Hydrologist (Environmental Sciences)
• Wind Energy Engineer

Graduate Application Process

The graduate application process consists of the following steps:

1. Applications submitted to Hydro Tasmania by Thursday 8 May, 2008
2. Short-listed candidates' applications provided to Hydro Tasmania manager to select for interview by Thursday 22 May, 2008
3. Selected candidates undergo a series of behavioural interviews with a panel of three Hydro Tasmania employees, held between 2 - 20 June, 2008
4. Reference checking conducted with candidate referees
5. Offers made to successful candidates by 27 June 2008
6. Academic transcripts sought upon completion of undergraduate degree

Location

The majority of graduate positions are based in Hobart, Tasmania with the potential for opportunities interstate and overseas.
