Rouna 2 Power Station, Papua New Guinea
The Rouna 2 Project was an upgrade to the Rouna 2 power station in Papua New Guinea. Rouna 2 power station was around 30 years old, its worn machinery creating a restricted output that prevented it from achieving its full potential in power generation. Hydro Tasmania Consulting assessed the station in consulting with the client and prepared technical and commercial specifications that would form the basis of a construction tender. By restoring Rouna 2 power station to its full capacity, operating restrictions will be removed.

King Island Renewable Energy Expansion Project (KIREX)
The King Island Renewable Energy Expansion Project was commissioned by Hydro Tasmania as an extension to its existing renewable energy installation on King Island. While some sustainable energy is generated on King Island, the primary source of power is diesel generation. Rather than simply replicating the existing system, Hydro Tasmania Consulting improved on it by combining carbon block technology with wind generation. By reducing the use of diesel generation from 65% to 35%, the power system will reduce the current operating costs to the asset owners whilst providing a more secure and reliable power system with significant environmental benefits.

Backup Network Special Protection Scheme, Tasmania
The Backup Network Special Protection Scheme was commissioned by Transend Networks, and based in Tasmania. Hydro Tasmania Consulting developed a system whereby weather conditions were monitored regularly to ascertain local energy needs. By delivering an innovative solution in a tight timeframe, and on budget, Hydro Tasmania Consulting has provided Transend Networks with a system that will allow optimal sales of locally-generated power.
